From Russia with….hotels

Tourism industry talks about China as next big thing, soon it may start to talk about Russia as next big thing. Russia`s economy is growing, political situation is stable, people are living better and willing to travel (not only to Israel and Turkey). Their incoming and outgoing tourism is growing as well. There are only two problems for Russia`a tourism industry right now in my opinion: visas and lack of appropriate tourism infrastructure in many places. I`m not sure about visas, but tourism infrastructure may get a boom quite soon.

I came across the blog about real estate in Ukraine and Russia and there were some news about hotels. As the content is in Russian, I`m making short conclusion:

Local municipalities like Sochi will invest quite a big amount of money in transport sector and communications. State authorities are talking about lower taxes for tourism enterprises. That`s not all – company “Inturist” wants to build 17 three star hotels (120 rooms each) in five years in 17 Russian cities. And in October World Tourism and Travel Council announced that in ten years Russia might become one of the world`s leading tourism and travel countries.

Sounds fine, only those visas…..
